Buying guide

Choose a robot vacuum that actually suits your home.

Floor types, furniture clearance, thresholds and ongoing support can matter just as much as advertised suction power. Use this guide to identify what to check before you buy.

Start with the three checks
A slim robot vacuum crossing oak floors in a modern Australian living room.

Floor and furniture clearance

Rug pile, cables, dark floors and the gap under a sofa decide more than a pascal number. A robot that is 80 mm tall is useless under a 70 mm sofa.

Thresholds and navigation

Suction does not tell you whether the robot will cross a timber track or stay out of a pet bowl. Look at climb and mapping, then walk the doorways.

Parts and support

Brushes, filters and a battery are the second year of ownership. Australian Consumer Law covers a faulty robot we sell. The app needs your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for the Z70.

Measure

The gap under the sofa

Measure the clear opening, not the sofa height on paper. The Saros Z70 body is 79.8 mm. A few millimetres of spare room is not a guarantee: pile, cables and a dipping frame still matter.

  • Clearance beneath sofas and cabinets
  • Height of room-to-room tracks
  • Rug thickness and loose edges
  • Cables and pet bowls
  • A hard-floor spot for the dock

What the numbers mean

Z70 suction

22,000 Pa

A laboratory suction rating. It is not a score for your hallway.

Z70 height

7.98 cm

The body height. Compare it with the gap you measured.

X50 Ultra

20,000 Pa

Paired with ProLeap for thresholds and a mop that swings to the edge.

Before you pay

  • Replacement brushes and filters are a running cost, not a surprise.
  • The Z70 joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
  • Delivery is free to Australian street addresses and is already in the price.
  • A faulty robot is covered by the Australian Consumer Law.
